The Milan offices: a concrete example of a completely sustainable company.

The BAA Sustainability Topic Group has organized a special “on-the-field” event: a guided tour of the offices of a company which is a concrete example of a business using applied sustainability for all corporate functions.
The Italian headquarters is located in a brand-new building with low environmental impact and low energy consumption, designed by Mario Cucinella MCA. Maximum 20 people. The event is free of charge and will last around two hours.

The 3M company policy make the results of the sustainability real and all choices are visible.
Innovation for better life
Program of preventive medicine at the clinic of the company that includes: medical and osteopathic treatments, check-up diet, dental check. Also: laundry service with pick up and delivery, online shopping with free delivery at the 3M headquarters, nursery in the surroundings, movies in English during the break to integrate language courses, service of car pooling to reduce the impact of pollution on the environment.
The safety
The proper managinf of all production centers helps to protect the staff and the environment and also safeguarding the investments of the company.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Essential aim is to simplify the relationship between working hours and family commitments, to help in reconciling work and family.
Energy saving and environmental quality of work
The building was made according to criteria of sustainable architecture and the check of the materials used should be directed to ensure maximum environmental comfort for people working in the company and, at the same time, to ensure the lowest possible cost of management.

The aim of customer satisfaction and commercial success, within a context of environmental values, social and financial.
Environmental stewardship
In 1975, 3M was the first major manufacturer to an active interest in environmental issues and, in the same way that fosters innovation, has promoted the awareness of employees through the program Pollution Prevention Pays - 3P.
Managing the lifecycle
Attention is also directed to the whole product life-cycle.
