"China: From factory for the world to high-tech leader": this is the title of the interesting event hosted by BAA Topic Groups Entrepreneurship and PE & Venture Capital.

China is a country for delocalized production, in addition to being a market with 1.25 billion consumers. Here is another aspect that is not as well-known regarding Chinese growth: qualitative and technological advances. This is more elusive and more difficult to define compared to quantitative information, but just as important.

What would change for foreign investors if, in addition to being in China for production, they would like to introduce themselves as a high tech operator as well?

What does “high tech” mean for China?

What sectors has the country decided to focus on?
